Opportunity for Deeper Missional Partnership

Recently the NW Area of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Mid-America, (that would be the tribe of disciples of Jesus whom I serve), received notice that in about 6-9 months we will receive our first gift of land. This 160 acre farmstead is located just 1.5 miles NE of the intersection of I-35 and MO 116.

Our initial plan is to honor the donor's desire to host on this land an outdoor learning center, however, we are serious about learning how to best use this property to serve the wider community (within and beyond the Church).

If you had the opportunity to make use of that much land for the cause of Christ, what would YOU do with it?

Heartland Missional Church Initiative

The area of the country located where Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri meet has a reputation for a slower, more deliberate pace.

So, when the Spirit of God moves among Christ-followers here to inspire fresh energy and new focus on making new disciples and profoundly engaging their communities at Jesus' leading, alarms start going off.

Not another program or technical advance, the growing movement to join Jesus in the mission field, working among the "least of these" is offering to us who serve a real shot at being transformed ourselves. Of course, it costs us our naivite about ourselves. The more closely we work with Jesus, the more work we discover He is doing to heal our own brokeness, our insatiable appetite for anything that gets the world to center around us and our religious addictions.

Welcome to a movement of leaders in the Heartland who have made a decision to work with and to be worked on by Jesus the Christ until the Great Commission is fulfilled everywhere.

I look forward to what God will do in and through us together.
